 Welcome to our page of Omega watch serial numbers for Omega watches and Omega Speedmaster watches . First of all just to be clear no serial  numbers list of Omegas  is an exact science its really just a guide as Contrary to widespread belief, Omega never employed serial numbers in a strictly sequential manner. A range of serial numbers was allocated to the manufacturing of a specific caliber. Omega then typically, though not invariably, manufactured that caliber in sequential order. Consequently, serial numbers with significant discrepancies were occasionally produced concurrently. For example, caliber 1861 might be fabricated with serial numbers in the 48 millions, while other Omega timepieces were produced with serial numbers in the 51 millions. Prior to 1995, these sequences generally exhibited close proximity, thereby approximating continuous usage. Lemania calibers, such as the 1861, have consistently been somewhat of an anomaly and have been observed to deviate from the published tables detailing Omega serial number deployment.( see the second table down for Speedmaster spefic serial number ranges )

Commencing on February 15, 1991, all Omega watches manufactured featured a serial number engraved on the lug or caseback (as I am aware of 1998 & 2004 watches lacking lug engraving). All watches bearing a serial number of 53 million or greater possess this engraving. Furthermore, note that in 1995, Omega discontinued the practice of utilizing a single sequence of serial numbers. Previously, all calibers undergoing production would have fallen below a certain maximum number, and every range of numbers beneath that maximum was assigned to the production of a particular caliber, the highest number assigned to any caliber in production would have been in the 51 millions. Beginning in 1995, Omega allocated broadly distributed ranges of serial numbers to the manufacturing of calibers. From that date until 2007, these ranges have encompassed, for instance,

56 million for caliber 1151;

58 million for caliber 2520 and 2601;

60 million for caliber 1164, 1221, and 3600;

61 million for caliber 1666;

77 million for caliber 1861;

80 million for calibers 1128, 1164, 2500 B, and 2500C;

81 million for caliber 2628;

and 48 million for caliber 1861 (the 1957 Replica from 1998); (appearing in "Omega - A Journey Through Time"). Omega has indicated that in 2007, it further subdivided and segregated caliber production, making dating even more challenging Therefore, a Speedmaster with a lug engraving was most probably manufactured after February 15, 1991. Bear in mind that Omega may produce a movement and not deploy it for a considerable period.. A Lemania movement stored for several years before utilization and lug engraving would not astonish me. Incidentally, 48 million numbers are particularly problematic to date. Dating an Omega watch, short of contacting Bienne and getting a excerpt from the Omega archives, is more of an art than a science.

On earlier Omega watches you would use the serial number that's engraved on the movement itself, omega started putting the serial numbers on the cases itself in the late 1980s/early 1990s with some exceptions starting from the 1940s, on some 1970s/80s watches the serial number is in inside the case back

 As stated above the Omega Speedmasters serial numbers vary from the other Omega models , the speedmaster line had its own production cycle batches separate to the other Omega  models also used Lemania ebauches most famously the Lemania CH27 which was used as the base for the cal 321 and later the 861 and 1861 omega movements, as these were bought in sort of speak these were sometimes numbered seperately by Omega, so for the speedmaster use the serials listed below

To get an estimated year of production of any of the above model Omega Speedmasters , compare your serial number to the speedmaster serial number table above this table and it should fall somewhere in the years of production of that particular model number , the 105.003 "Ed White" ones as an example with the case date stamps of -63 , -64 and -65  all were still being released by Omega right up until around 1969 showing the delays which supply, demand, delays in manufacturing,  shipping and the sales could have
